How this affects what we recommend

It doesn't. We decide what to cover and how to rate it first, based on what genuinely helps independent seniors. Affiliate links are added afterward, only to products we would have recommended anyway. We are never paid to include a product, and an affiliate relationship never changes a rating.

Which links are affiliate links

Where a page contains affiliate links, it says so near the top. Links to government agencies, research and charities are never affiliate links.
